The easy path to biscuits: cut in shortening, stir, and drop by the spoonful. You *could* roll and cut, but that is more mess for a weeknight tray.

| **Yield** | One sheet of drop biscuits |
| **Time** | ~20 minutes |
| **Difficulty** | Easy |

## Ingredients

- ¼ cup shortening
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk

## Instructions

1. Heat oven to **450°F**.
2. Cut shortening into flour.
3. Mix in the remaining ingredients.
4. Drop dough by heaping tablespoon onto a greased cookie sheet, about **1 inch** apart.
5. Bake **10–12 minutes** until golden brown.

## Notes

Rolling on a floured board and cutting rounds is optional. Drop biscuits are intentional here — less cleanup, still good biscuits.
